I'd always loved my mom and dad.. I was 13. The letter sat by itself on my dad's dresser. One day while home alone, curiosity got to me, and I simply wanted to see what my mom had written to my dad. It said.. "Sweetheart.. I'm so sorry.. even with the mastectomies.. and the chemotherapy, the Dr's all are saying the cancer has spread throughout my body and chances of survival are slim...". After reading that, I cried and prayed very much that day, and vowed to love forever. She lived for about 7 more years after that. To this day.. I continue to love and cherish all of the precious experiences I've had. The tears still come even now, as I am writing this(40 years after reading that letter). If you choose to truly share your love with others, the pleasure of that love will remain with you forever. |
